MCC PG 2026: PwD Candidates to Take Rule Queries to NMC, Not MCC

MCC clarifies it only implements NMC's PwD rules for PG counselling; grievances about disability criteria must be raised with NMC.

The Medical Counselling Committee issued a notice on 15 October 2026 about grievances from candidates with benchmark disabilities (PwBD/PwD) in PG medical counselling.

MCC says it acts only as the executive agency running counselling and allotment. The rules on PwD eligibility, including disability categories, minimum and maximum degree of disability and course suitability, are framed by the National Medical Commission under the PG Medical Education Regulations and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. MCC cannot interpret, relax or change these provisions.

Candidates with doubts or complaints about the PwD rules should approach NMC directly. MCC will allot seats as per NMC's notified guidelines and any court directions. PwD candidates are advised to read the Information Bulletin and NMC guidelines carefully and follow updates on mcc.nic.in.
