NMC Final Guidelines on PwBD Assessment for PG Medical Admissions 2026, Published via MCC
MCC has posted NMC's final guidelines (16 Sep 2026) on assessing Persons with Benchmark Disabilities for MD/MS/DNB admission in 2026.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published the National Medical Commission's final "Guidelines on Assessment of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) for Admission to the Post Graduate Medical Courses, 2026", issued on 16 September 2026.
The guidelines set out how candidates with benchmark disabilities are assessed for MD, MS and DNB admission. They define the designated Medical Assessment Boards, rename the certificate these boards issue as an "Eligibility Certificate" (certifying eligibility for PG admission, rather than only the disability), and describe the documents candidates must carry and how final eligibility is decided by a designated board. They apply to all-India and state counselling.
PwBD candidates should read the guidelines in full before their assessment and keep the eligibility certificate and supporting disability documents ready for registration. The official PDF is attached.
