UP NEET PG 2026: DGME Issues Key Rules on Choice Locking, In-Service Eligibility and Certificates

UP DGME has issued instructions for UP NEET PG 2026 counselling covering in-service eligibility, mandatory choice locking, certificate validity and admission documents.

The Directorate General of Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh, has issued a set of instructions for candidates taking part in the UP NEET PG 2026 online counselling for MD, MS, Diploma and DNB seats. Only candidates declared qualified in NEET PG 2026 can take part.

For state-quota DNB seats, only Uttar Pradesh in-service doctors are eligible, and only those on the list shared by the Director General of Medical and Health Services on 16 October 2026. The same list decides which PMHS cadre doctors get in-service weightage for MD/MS seats. The security amount will not be adjusted against tuition fee. There is no limit on the number of choices, but choices must be locked; a candidate who does not lock choices will be left out of seat allotment. A candidate allotted both an MD/MS/Diploma seat and a DNB seat can join only one.

OBC and EWS certificates must be dated 1 April 2026 or later and issued in the Uttar Pradesh government format by a UP competent authority; certificates in the central government format will not be accepted. Disability certificates must come from the centres notified by MCC/DGHS. Private-college admissions happen at government-nominated nodal centres, while government seats are joined at the allotted college or district hospital after a medical board examination.

Keep all original documents ready: missing or false records at admission lead to cancellation and loss of the security amount. Follow dgme.up.gov.in and upneet.gov.in for updates.
