Odisha PG Medical 2026: Addendum to State Guidelines Sets Mop-up Round Category Order

Odisha DMET addendum (23 Sep 2026) adds clause 13.2a to the 2026-27 PG guidelines: mop-up order in-service then direct, ST-SC-SEBC-EWS-UR with sub-categories.

The Directorate of Medical Education & Training (DMET), Odisha has issued an addendum (Order No. 21357, dated 23 September 2026) to the 2026-27 state guidelines for PG Medical, Post-MBBS Diploma, Post-Diploma DNB and Post-MBBS DNB counselling. It adds a new clause 13.2a on how the Mop-up Round will be conducted.

Under the new clause, in-service candidates will be counselled first in the Mop-up Round, followed by direct candidates. Seats left unfilled in the in-service category will go to direct category candidates, while keeping the reservation status of the seat.

Within each stream, the order of categories will be ST, SC, SEBC, EWS and then UR. Each category except EWS has sub-categories for PwD, Green Card holders and Ex-Servicemen, taken in a fixed order: for example ST (PwD), ST (GC), ST (ExS) and then ST, and the same pattern for SC, SEBC and UR, with UR (EWS) before UR. Any seat left unfilled in a sub-category goes back to its main category. The addendum also makes clear that ST, SC and SEBC candidates are not eligible for the EWS category.

The addendum forms part of the state guidelines. Candidates expecting to take part in the Mop-up Round, especially in-service and reserved category candidates, should read it alongside the main guidelines on the DMET Odisha website.
