Himachal Pradesh NEET PG 2026: Job Trainee Medical Officers to Be Considered Under 33.33% Direct Quota in Round 1

AMRU says eligible Job Trainee Medical Officers who applied under in-service quota with a DHS NOC will be considered against the 33.33% direct-candidate quota for Round 1.

Atal Medical & Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, has issued a notice following the state government's amendment to its PG/SS Policy, notified on 2 November 2026. The notice replaces the university's earlier notice dated 30 October 2026 on the same subject.

Under the amended policy, Medical Officers appointed as Job Trainees may avail the policy for PG (MD/MS) courses, but against the 33.33% quota reserved for direct candidates. Job Trainees who already submitted their online application for Round 1 of the PG (MD/MS/DNB) Common/Centralized Counselling 2026 under the in-service quota, and who hold a No Objection Certificate from the Director of Health Services, Himachal Pradesh, will now be considered under the direct-candidate quota for Round 1, subject to the eligibility conditions of the amended policy.

The amendment also sets service terms for such candidates: while studying in the state they receive only the stipend applicable to direct candidates, they must sign a two-year service bond (including one year of field posting) with a bond amount of Rs. 40 lakh, and must complete the remaining Job Trainee period before the PG bond period begins.

Job Trainee candidates should check how their category now appears in the counselling process and read the full notice on amruhp.ac.in.
