WBMCC PG Medical 2026: No Security Deposit for ICH and RKMSP-VIMS State Quota Seats; Choices to Be Unlocked

WBMCC says the security deposit does not apply to State Quota seats at ICH and RKMSP-VIMS Kolkata; a revised seat matrix is coming and choices will be unlocked.

The Directorate of Medical Education, West Bengal, which runs WBMCC PG Medical counselling, has issued an urgent notice about two Kolkata institutions: the Institute of Child Health and Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences. Candidates choosing the State Quota seats at these two institutes will not need to pay the security deposit.

Because of this change, WBMCC will publish a revised seat matrix and a revised list of participating institutes shortly. Once the counselling software has been updated, candidates will be able to add these institutions' State Quota seats to their choices. The notice says this is expected from the day after it was issued.

Choices will be unlocked for all candidates. Anyone who does not want to change their choices does not need to do anything, as the system will lock existing choices automatically. Candidates interested in these two institutes should watch the WBMCC website for the revised seat matrix and participating-institute list, then update their choices.
