Dr. Pravin Surendran

I am a medical doctor and health professions educator, holding an MBBS from Vinayaka Missions University and an MD in Community Medicine from Pondicherry University. Currently serving as Associate Professor in a medical college in Kerala, I am engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. My MD dissertation focused on tuberculosis and chronic respiratory illnesses among brick kiln workers.I am trained in qualitative research by Dr. Amol R Dongre, and I provide ongoing research guidance to 10–15 postgraduate students annually. I have co-guided an MD Dermatology thesis and am a FAIMER fellow at MAHE-FAIMER (2021 cohort). I am also a certified Clinical Director for Special Olympics India (Puducherry chapter).I had headed and facilitated a Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) clinic with over 2,300 registered patients and lead a community-based NCD registry and follow-up project in rural Tamil Nadu. I also served as PI for the Integrated Village Development Project, which focused on sanitation, water conservation, and renewable energy. I am now focused on translating my extensive fieldwork into peer-reviewed research. I aspire to contribute meaningfully to global public health education through collaboration, innovation, and capacity building. I am confident that I can guide medical education aspirants and budding doctors in clinical and public health research starting with topic selection, hypothesis building, proposal or protocol formation, data collection, data analysis and results, study article writing and publication, which would be much useful for USMLE/PLAB aspirants as well as current postgraduates in various clinical and non clinical fields. I can guide in CV building, application letters, statement of interest, cover letters etc. for USMLE, PLAB and similar aspirants. I can also guide in career search, decision making on specialities, etc.
